Ruffled Curtains {Anthropologie Knockoff}

I am still in shock after winning Season 9 of So You Think You're Crafty!

10 weeks of creating, dreaming up new ideas, neglecting housework, stitching, gluing, late nights, nervously watching the polls has paid off. Whew!  I encourage you to audition for an upcoming season, you'll have a great time!

For the last week I made Anthropologie Knockoff Drapes... a tutorial will be up soon. They are hanging up in my daughter's bedroom and are gorgeous.
I'm working on a variation for my Living Room made simply of muslin, hopefully they will be up by Christmas!

:: My Sister and the Final Week of SYTYC! ::

Me, and my little sister.  I've been thinking about her this morning, and trying to decide on what to get her for Christmas.

How old is she? 22? 23? 5?

When did she grow up? Somewhere amid the last 10 years as I was going to college, getting married, buying a house and delivering 4 babies apparently.  It occurred to me that we have not lived together since she was 10 years old, tiny and sweet with glasses and braces.  That little girl, who I'd wake up to find sleeping on my floor, or sneaking around the corner of the kitchen to see if my boyfriend of the moment would kiss me goodnight.

Now she's taking my daughters shopping, and calling to see if I need anything while she's out ( "yes, actually Clara I need some garbage bags and tissues" - exciting, I know )  She has a big girl job, and a big girl car and big girl life, but still the best little sister and aunt to my girlies that I could ask for.

Anyway...

If you've been following this season of So You Think You're Crafty, click over and vote for your favorite craft in the Wild Card Finale!

It's been a crazy 10 weeks, a new theme and deadline every week, but so fun! My goal was to get to the "Hardware Store" Week, I can't believe I'm in the final 2, how exciting!

Our host, Missy has been so sweet, and is incredible at organizing this.  Meeting the other crafters, and seeing all of the amazing projects they've created has been great.

My project for the finale are drapes inspired by Anthropologie
{ it's no secret that I wish I could live in that store }
they are $236 for a set, I recreated them for less than $50!

Polls are open until Friday at 9PM :)

Hardware Store Craft : Whimsical Wreath

We just completed Week 8 at SYTYC, I'm so excited to have gotten this far, to the final two :) The theme for this challenge was "Hardware Store" - this is what I came up with!

I went to the hardware store knowing I wanted to make a wreath.   This chimney pipe looks amazing painted with all sorts of whimsical wire swirls and "flowers." I think it's so amazing that you can take otherwise harsh, manly objects and turn them into something so feminine and pretty!

My husband helped a bit {he in fact is taking credit for the entire project} which is cute, I couldn't have done it in such a short amount of time without him!

A tutorial will be up very soon, so you can make one for yourself!
